Here are some pictures from Summer 2009. The new house in Baranof Warm Springs is my focus:) The house is the one you can see with 2 windows facing the bay and one window below with the deck in front, it is gray.

I still have not figured out how to write by each picture so this maybe out of order.
I have been out in the boat several times fishing. The beauty and sea life around this area of Alaska are amazing. This sea lion came right up behind the boat as to say HI. Actually I think he was looking for food but the fish were not biting so he was out of luck.
The spring wild flowers are in bloom. This picture was taken near Lincoln Rock. There use to be a lighthouse on the rock in 1910 or so. The winter winds blew it away, twice, and now there are lots of wildflowers. I always think of them as a little bit of beauty in an area that is not beautiful in an Alaskan storm.
Molly and Emily have become great buddies. Last night Emily was going to go for a walk with some friends, Molly stayed behind to guard me. As Emily got further and further down the drive way Molly began to bark at her. Soon Emily was back on the porch to help with the guard duties. Usually one of them takes up sentry at the front door and one at the back door. It would be bad if I happened to get out a door without them knowing it. Silly girls.

I just returned from a trip to Pelican, Alaska. Pelican is a fishing village one mountain range away from the ocean seas. As you can see by the pictures it is beautiful. The Mountains rise right up out of the water! It is amazing. The whole community is built on the side of a mountain with all homes and businesses on a boardwalk. The people were delightful!. I spent one evening with the volunteer fir department doing the spring cleaning of the firehall. I am now a member of the Pelican Volunteer fire department. It was a great new Alaskan Adventure.

May 2009
I know, it has been awhile since I lasted posted anything on my blog. Got kind of side-tracked when I returned to Alaska. Dr. Bill and I have been busy getting the RV Park ready for this summers clients. It is now all cleaned up and ready to rumble! Our first clients left on Saturday and had a very successful bear hunt. I am adding three pictures this evening.
The three bucks that were walking down the road in front of the house eating the new grass.
Dr. Bill signing the closing papers for the purchase of a home in Warm Springs, Alaska. The exciting part is that this house has water rights to the hot springs and its own private hot tub that is feed by the hot springs.
The final picture is of my correspondence student violin concert. That is her Mom/teacher playing with her and another student. Aunt Lynn and I attended the concert together.

Travels
Friday, March 6, 2009
We just returned from yet another trip to Denver. The Townhouse sale fell through but we decided to clear out everything Bill wanted. The truck and car handled the last load quite nicely. We spent an evening with Bill's step-daughter and her family. Bill spent some time with his 13 year old dog named Shook. Shook can't handle all the traveling we do so she is staying with Katie (the young lady in the picture, Bill's oldest grandaughter. Shook and Katie have grown up together and are great buddies. Shook was hit by a car last week. At 13 years of age is was tramatic for us all but she is recovering nicely.
I also got to meet Bill's step-son and his family. It is nice to have a face to go with the names. No pictures, everyone was sick with colds and flu and not looking their best.
This week is the last week in Colorado so we are franticlly trying to finish everything up before we head back to Alaska.

February 24, 2009
We just returned from Denver with another car and truck load of "stuff" from the townhouse. The drive back to the dome was a bit different. It took us 7.5 hours with lots of ice and snow, a car wreck ( not ours) and a snow storm happening when we got to Gunnison. It dumped 8 inches of wet, yucky snow on us last might.
Dr. Bill got an offer on the townhouse and he has accepted it. Now it is wait and see if all the dominoes of a sale fall into place.
Today we are both working on taxes. One of my favorite jobs and as you can see I am not working on it very hard. Enjoy these new pictures!

February 2009

It has been a fun and exciting February and we are only half way through the month. When I returned from my conference in Anchorage Dr. Bill took me to Ouray Hot Springs to soak off the cramped airline seat blues. It is a beautiful town. Sometimes called the American Switzerland. The Mountains are a beautiful deep red in color with dark green evergreen trees and some snow here and there. They are very steep and the valley where the community is is small and tucked right at the base of these gorgeous mountains. The hot springs are located right at the base of the mountain. It was very relaxing and the perfect place to unwind.
Last night we attended a concert at the Crested Butte Center for the Arts. The group that played are from Anchorage, Alaska. They are a group of five who play wonderful bluegrass and Appalachian style music. I am going to try to include a picture of them in this posting. It was a wonderful Valentines evening with dinner and a concert. I am spoiled. There picture will not upload. You can check them out at there web site if you want to just do a google search on Bearfoot, Alaska.
Next week we head for Denver for another moving trip. Then onto Farmington, Az. to visit a friend of Bills.
We have made our ferry reservations to return to Alaska. We leave Bellingham March 20th.

January Happenings
It has been a quiet January 2009. Bill and I have been sleeping a great deal trying to get over pneumonia. Emily is glad to join Bill on the couch and catch some ZZZZZ's while keeping Bill's feet warm. When I am awake I have been working on a new baby quilt. No, I do not know of anyone who is expecting, I am just planning ahead. This one has 12 squares that need to be crossed stitched. That is lots of little X's.
We did go into Denver for a week or so. We had dinner with friends, did some serious CostCo and thrift store shopping and cleaned out the crawl space under the Townhouse and the attic space above the garage. They were both adventures, we just got everything up from under the townhouse and pilled in the living room when they called and wanted to show the place in 45 minutes. We piled it all in the garage, truck and car, cleaned and were ready on time. The next day we cleaned the attic, of course they called and wanted to show again. This time we had 2 hours to clean. We are getting really good at gorilla cleaning. Need your house done in a hurry, call us, we have it down to a science. Bill even can get a fire started in the fire place and coffee made before the viewers arrive. Amazing.
I leave for Anchorage (if the volcano does not blow) on Wednesday for meeting Thursday and Friday for one of the grants I deal with for the school district.
The snow is deep (2-3 feet) and the sun is shinning. Emily are off for our daily walk in a few moments. Hope everyone is having a quiet winter!
